History
Vrugtegeur has been a cherished part of the Rossouw family for six generations. Over the centuries, the farm has evolved from a diverse agricultural endeavour, encompassing grain, sheep, brandy, apples, pears, and apricots, into a renowned export apple and pear farm.
In January 2023, our father, Johannes Rossouw, the last generation of farmers in the family, departed the farm at the remarkable age of 92. His parting wish to his four children was clear:
“Please do not ever sell this farm. You do not have to farm here anymore, but keep it and transform it into a holiday destination.”
It is with this heartfelt wish from Johannes Rossouw that the dream of Vrugtegeur Accommodation was born. We are exceedingly excited to welcome guests from around the world to experience a piece of Vrugtegeur and create lasting memories in their hearts.

Enjoyable and Peaceful
“We enjoyed the entire house it was clean, and the rooms were nice and big it had a lovely braai inside the house. The place was equipped for loadshedding which was great and Petro our host was absolutely amazing. When the whole area was flooding, she allowed us to stay an extra night for free because the roads were not safe to drive on.”
Exceptional
“It was load shedding friendly.. Rechargeable lights throughout the house and gas stove. The indoor braai area was a plus and the fact that wood was available 2 purchase if needed.”
